It's Turkey Time!

Yesterday was the Lego Monthly Mini Build.  After escaping the long lines at the polls (we got really lucky, and the line for our last name was completely non-existent, while the other lines were out the door), we waited around in a huge line at the Lego store to build some turkeys.  I wasn't expecting the line at all because I figured so many people would be busy with election day.  It turns out that was what everyone else was thinking, too.

As we got to the front of the line, Lex started dancing around and singing, "It's turkey time.  It's turkey time.  It's tuuuuuurkeeeeeeey tiiiiiiiime."

Yep.  Turkey Time.

When Lex was done building his turkey, he told me that his turkey's name was Lex, and then he kept running around saying, "bock bock."  I told him that some turkeys say "gobble gobble," and he tried that out once before informing me that Lex Turkey likes to say "bock bock."

Connor elected not to name his turkey.  Yet.  Lex has been putting the pressure on for him to name it, so he still might.

Well, it's important to know how much your turkey weighs at Thanksgiving, so this morning we got out the scale to check.

Lex Turkey weighed in at about one ounce.

This led to the endless weighing of different combinations of Lego bricks.  I had no idea that they would play with a kitchen scale for so long.  I might just have to get that thing out for them more often when I need a minute in the kitchen.

Happy Turkey Time!
