Today I took the boys to see the doctor. It all started with Lex's mild fever on Thursday night. He was a little bit feverish all day Friday, with a mild runny nose. Friday night he got much worse. Then he got worse all weekend.
Then, Connor spiked a fever on Saturday night. It came down again with medicine and he was pretty much fine all day Sunday. Then Sunday night, he was 102.4 degrees.
So, Monday morning we went to the doctor.
Lex has an ear infection, and now he is all set up on a ten-day course of antibiotics. Nothing strange going on, and he will get better quickly.
Connor has something different. He was tested for the flu, and that came back negative. It seems that he is fighting something off, which is why he keeps getting high fevers during the night. But his body is keeping it at bay, and he really isn't sick. Just as long as his night fevers stop by Wednesday or Thursday, we don't have anything to worry about.

It sounds like Connor has what's been dubbed pseudoflu up here: on/off high fevers, with general flu-y symptoms for the first day or so, fevers continuing for 3-5 days. It's miserable and it has taken out half the school kids in NEO. That and a WICKED stomach bug. 'Tis the season!
