Disney on Ice: Treasure Trove

The boys got tickets to Disney on Ice this past Christmas from Aunt Kathy and Uncle Tom.  (Thanks again, guys!  It was great!)

Lex is now about the same age that Connor was when we went to see Toy Story on Ice two years ago.  I think that he really enjoyed the show.  Connor did, too, and is now big enough to see everything from his own seat.

The show was really fantastic.  There were so many characters on the ice.  There was Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald:

We also saw a nice Peter Pan bit.  At one point, Wendy lost her red wig when she was spinning around on the ice.  She was actually a blonde!

Then there was an Alice in Wonderland routine.  Connor said that his favorite part of the whole show were the playing cards in the Red Queen's army.  They did some pretty neat tricks.

During intermission, Lex got cotton candy and Connor got a blue slushee in a light-up cup.

After intermission we saw a Lion King skit.  Lex covered his eyes when King Mufasa died.  He's seen the movie a bunch of times, but this time it was different for him.  He didn't stay upset for long, because soon after that, Timon and Pumbaa came onto the ice, and he thinks they are hilarious.  When Simba and Nala were skating together, the male skater was swinging the female skater around by her feet, and Kevin and I were both sure that he was going to smack her head right into the ice.  It looked really close!  But, of course, he didn't, and everyone cheered (or breathed huge sighs of relief) when they were done.

Then there were skits from the Little Mermaid, Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, Snow White, and Aladdin.  I realized that my kids have never seen Aladdin.  I don't know why not, that genie is pretty hilarious.  I'm going to have to get it for them soon.  Then, all the princesses came out for a final number with Mickey and the gang.  It was all pretty fantastic.

Lex says that his favorite part of the show was "all of them."  I guess he liked the whole thing.
