Vlog from Texas #1

This post is about the apartment that we are staying in while we wait to close on our new house.  It's in a huge building with six floors, and each floor has hundreds of apartment and storage units.  We are in the middle, on the third floor.  There is a parking garage and two pools, with plenty of outside patio seating and grills that we can use.  There is a fitness center and a game room with a pool table.  There is even a poker room!  There are two outdoor pools that we are able to use, and a dog park that we have no need of.

All in all, I have no real complaints.  Yes, it would be nice to have more than 4 place settings worth of dishes, but I guess I could always buy some paper plates and the like.  Yes, it would be nice to have a sleeper sofa for the kids, but the couch is actually long enough that if they sleep at separate ends, they don't touch each other.

Our Blessed Journey said...

think of it as an extended hotel vaca;) J's new company did not give us ANY time to look for a place to live before coming down, so we came down with a camper, a boat, two kids and a golden retriever...and NO place to live:) Our first week was a five hundred Sq. Ft. cottage....our second week was a very large and beautiful rental home that was right on the water and a gorgeous neighborhood...and then the carpet cleaner chemical scent wore off and the cigarette smoke was unbearable...so we got out of that lease......then we went back to the 500 sq ft cottage (thankfully the relocation company still had a lot of our stuff)....then J left for a biz trip to OH, and there was NO way I was to stay in that cottage in that scary neighborhood alone with the girls...so ON July 4th, we had to find another rental house and we only had that day to do it....I'd say that it took a good solid 2.5 years before we finally felt settled and at home here:) Hope you guys feel settled a lot more quickly when you get into your new home!
