According to my Fitbit, I walked 8.71 miles yesterday, AROUND MY HOUSE

So for Father's Day this year, the kids and I bought Kevin a Fitbit Aria scale and a Fitbit Zip activity tracker.  He needed a new scale, and I had run his old Fitbit through the washer and ruined it ages ago.

Well, then Fitbit released the Fitbit Flex, which is a wristband that not only tracks your activity, but also your sleep patterns, and Kevin really wanted it.  So he bought it for himself and the Fitbit zip sat in the useful drawer for about two weeks.  (We had a drawer in the kitchen that we called the useful drawer, and it wasn't a junk drawer, but it was.  It had stuff like pocket knives and Bandaids and screwdrivers and hammers and nails in it.  All the stuff we needed to move into the new house.)  But then I reclaimed the useful drawer for kitchen utensils and moved the tools out into the garage.  I decided then to claim the Fitbit Zip for myself.  So it sat on my dresser for about two weeks until I had time to sit down and set it up for me.

It turns out that I rarely sit down, actually.

Since I set it up on Friday afternoon, I walked 5,000 steps in half a day Friday, and 5,000 steps in half a day Saturday.  I didn't wear it half of Saturday.  It didn't match my dress.

Then I walked 11,723 steps on Sunday.  And 14,682 steps on Monday.

And.  Then.  I walked 20,846 steps yesterday.  That's 8.71 miles.  And we never went anywhere.

I walked 8.71 miles inside my house and out to the mailbox.  I went out to the car in the driveway twice, just to move it.  I walked out to the pool filter once to show the repair guy where it was.  (We got a new pool filter system yesterday through the home warranty because the old one was leaky.)

Essentially, I walked 8.71 miles inside my own house yesterday.  I can't get over it.  Kevin can't believe it either.  I guess I just never sit down.  I didn't even hit the goal for being very active for 30 minutes.  I actually haven't since I started wearing the Fitbit.  I don't really intend to.
