Touring the Rest of The First Floor

Yesterday we went on a tour of the first floor, but you only really saw the rooms that are a part of the main circle.  Today, I would like to show you some of the other rooms on our first floor.  Branches from the main circle, if you will.

Like the Master Suite:

I'm in the market for new bedding, but I am having a hard time deciding what to buy.  I have this idea of what I want, but it isn't very concrete.  It's more of an I'll-know-it-when-I-see-it idea, but I haven't seen it anywhere yet.  That makes it tricky for buying.

I do know that I want something that goes with this shower curtain:

...and this ironing board cover...

...both of which are the things that I have bought while looking for new bedding.  But the bedding is elusive, as of yet.

Our home in Ohio has separate master closets.  This one is probably a little bit bigger than those two closets together, but I was still worried about sharing a closet.  It turns out that there is nothing to worry about.  We share pretty well.



We don't have to share vanity space in the bathroom, though, which is nice.  Mine doesn't have a sink, so we do share that.  The counter space is definitely big enough for a second sink, so if we ever redo this bathroom, we will probably put in his and hers sinks.

The other area of the first floor that isn't really part of the main circle route is off of the kitchen in the back of the house.



The door to the left is the back door.  The door on the right leads to the Laundry Room/Mud Room.



We have a first floor Laundry Room, since there are no basements in Houston.

And having the Laundry Room so close to the Kitchen reminds me a little bit of my grandma's old house, where the washer and dryer were actually in the kitchen.

This door in the Laundry Room leads to the Garage. 

Or Man Cave, if you prefer.

The Garage is probably two and a half cars wide, with an extra space at the front for the workbench.



There's another workbench and more storage cabinets on the side, too.

We still have to get the cable hooked up out here.  

Then it's definitely going to be Kevin's Man Cave.

Did you notice the huge rolling black tool chest to the left of the door?  That's the one we bought Kevin for his birthday earlier this month.

And that's probably the most photos of our Garage that you will ever find on my blog.

Finally, the Half Bathroom is located on the other side of the Laundry Room, opposite the Garage.
