Okay, no it really wasn't quite like that.
You see, we had promised long ago to take the kids to the Texas State Pokemon Championships in Dallas on this particular weekend, and we weren't going to let an additional two hours of driving around Texas deter us from keeping our promises.
So, instead of the four hour drive from Houston to Dallas, we were faced with a six hour drive from Amarillo to Dallas. Not that big a deal, right?
Well, except for the fact that there is nothing. Nothing. NO THING at all between Amarillo and Dallas. For SIX HOURS.
So, to pass the time, I took approximately 98 photos of nothing.
Look! A COW! There's something to look at.
Kevin. Driving. Always driving.
Connor. Watching a movie. Thank God for portable DVD players.
Lex is a happy traveler.
Every 45 minutes or so, we would have to slow down from 75 mph to 25 mph for a little town. That makes the trip take much longer.
At one point, we passed a sign that said, "Hungry? Next McDonalds. 45 miles."
I think that's a cotton field.
In the end, we made it to Dallas right at dinner time, and Aunt Dawn had a wonderful dinner ready and waiting for us. Aunt Dawn is the best!
