As part of our homeschool science unit about the seasons and weather, we constructed these easy wind measurement devices using things you can find around the house:
Two dixie cups
Tape the two dixie cups to the straw, one at each end and facing away from each other. Put the pin through the straw and make sure that the hole is big enough for the straw to spin freely. Stick the pin into the eraser of the pencil.
Then take it outside and check the wind!
