The Dark by Lemony Snicket is adorable, and yet serious. I thought the illustrations were fabulous.
Journey by Aaron Becker is a wordless story, full of adventure and imagination.
The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. This is Connor's new favorite picture book, I think. We've always liked William Joyce. This book has great pictures and the story is original. It was fun to read aloud, too.
The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt is a series of letters written by all the crayons in a little boy's box. After reading this one, we felt like coloring some pictures.
