Happy Noon Year's Eve!

I took the kids to the Noon Years Eve party at the local science center today.

It was awesome.

We met up with some friends.

We made our own noisemakers out of plastic eggs, beans and plastic spoons.

We ate cookies and drank ginger ale.

There was karaoke, so we listened to a lot of little kids sing.  Loudly.

But the best part, far and away, was the big countdown and balloon drop at 12:00 (noon).

There was a toy hidden inside every balloon, so the kids started popping them immediately, which made the whole place sound like there were fireworks going off everywhere.

It was a ton of fun!  I am so glad that someone thought of celebrating for the kids in the middle of the day.  I mean, I plan to let them stay up as long as they like at home tonight, but this party was definitely more fun because no one was too tired or too wired for being long past bedtime.
