First Piano Recital

The boys had their first piano recital this past weekend.  They have been taking piano lessons since we were in Houston, but none of their other teachers ever organized recitals.  We recently switched to a new piano teacher, and she hosts two every year!

By the way, their new teacher's name is Jean Gray, just like from the X-Men, which the kids get a kick out of.

She broke all her students up into three groups so that the recitals wouldn't be too long, and the kids performed in a loose youngest-to-oldest order.  Lex went second.  He played Mary Had a Little Lamb and a song called The Train.

I am so proud of Lex.  He did well, and he seemed happy about playing for everyone.

Connor went fourth or fifth in the program.

Connor played Old Uncle Bill and Love Somebody.  He played perfectly, and I am proud of him.

Shortly after Connor's performance, Lex was lulled to sleep by all the beautiful music.

After all the performances were over, there was a cookies and punch reception.

There will be another reception in the spring, and I can honestly say that I am looking forward to another one.
