Connor's 8th Birthday!!

Connor turned 8 on Saturday!

First thing that morning, he decided to play a game of Pokemon with Lex, using only the cards from the original set of Pokemon that Uncle Kris and Uncle Kevin gave him from when they were kids.

So the day got off to a good start.  And after the game of Pokemon, it was time to open presents!

He got a Story Cubes dice game, which he still isn't too sure about.  But I figured that he loves dice games, and he is really lucky with dice, so why not?  And since it was the smallest present, he opened it first.  Because he went from smallest to largest.

Next he opened a book.  I Survived the Shark Attacks of 1916.  He loves the books in this series.

And the new Maroon 5 CD, which is one of the two things he actually asked for this birthday.

The complete set of Percy Jackson books.  We watched Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters last week, and he really liked the movie, and seemed really interested in the rest of the series.

And finally, the other thing he asked for this birthday.  A Mega Absol EX Pokemon box.  He looks pretty happy, huh?

Here are the cards from the box that he was most excited about.

Absol EX and Mega Absol EX, obviously.  Those two are the whole reason for buying the box, and he loves to build darkness decks.

He was excited about this Goodra, because he has tons of the cards that it evolves from, and now he is thinking of building a water and fairy deck.

A full-art Manectric EX!  He already has a deck constructed around this card, because he ordered one on Amazon a while ago, but it isn't the full-art version.  And of course, having two in his deck will make it better.

And after we convinced him to clean up all those Pokemon cards, we had birthday breakfast.  His breakfast of choice lately?  English muffins.  And that's what he wanted on this day, too.
