The LEGO Vatican

While we were in Philadelphia, we visited the Franklin Institute early and often.  We got in for free because of my COSI Membership, so it was no big deal that we were coming and going.  And coming and going.

Anyways, the very first thing of interest that we discovered in the Franklin Institute was a replica of the Vatican built of Legos in honor of the papal visit.

It was truly a work of art that we, as Lego enthusiasts, could appreciate.

Here is the Lego Pope.

This model was built by Father Bob Simon, and all together it weighs more than 100 pounds.

You can see how big it really is with Kevin there in the background.

There was so much detail everywhere!  I loved it.  Because Legos.
