Giant Nutcracker Drawings

This year, I stumbled upon a great idea for a Christmas art project:  Giant Nutcracker Drawings.

And so, we taped together 16 pieces of paper to make the giant sheet of paper, and we each set about recreating the nutcracker using a grid system.

This is how mine started.

And this is Lex's after his first day of drawing.

The boys opted to take several days to complete their pencil drawings.

Then, once the drawings were complete, I traced them using a Sharpie.

Next, we colored our new larger-than-life friends.

I decided that mine would be colored traditionally.

Connor decided to go with a green theme.

Lex did something completely different.

We hung them on the doors in our house, and they add a nice bit of holiday cheer to our decor.

Here is Lex's finished Ghost Pirate Nutcracker.
Complete with a peg leg.
