More of the Same

Whenever the kids get money or gift cards for Christmases or Birthdays or other things, they seem (to me, at least) to buy the same things.  They always want more Pokemon or more NERF guns.

And I just think, don't we already have that?

Don't we already have 56 NERF guns?  Approximately 33,256 Pokemon cards?  467 Pokemon figurines?  How is this Pokemon video game any different than the 5 that we already have?

But they are different.  Vastly different.  Even if I can't understand why.

And so, they buy the different but same things.

Also, they clearly know exactly which one of them is the owner of each and every one of the aforementioned things, down to the very last NERF scope attachment and Pokemon card.  That Pikachu?  It's mine!
