Boys Club Orienteering

Today we went to a park and joined in a Boys Club meeting for the first time.  This meeting was all about orienteering, and a retired gentlemen from the Army and United States Department of the Interior taught the kids all about maps and compasses and that sort of thing.

After they finished their lesson, he turned them loose with a compass and a map to complete a course he had set up.  He had hidden bottle caps throughout the park for them to find.

They had a great time.  They also received a handy multi-tool for use on their adventures.

Next month we are going to Tank Town with Boys Club and the kids are all thrilled about it.
