In which I turn 40!

 Today is my birthday!  I'm 40 years old.  Forty.  

Kevin set up a scavenger hunt for my gifts.  He bought me a cryptex and gave me clues to open it.  I think it took me about a half hour to open it, and then there were more clues to lead me around the house to all of my gifts.  It was fun!

I'm very excited about this Edgar Allen Poe puzzle.

Kevin also bought a new trivia game for us to play, where all the topics had to do with things from the past forty years or the number forty.  There was a question about how many points the word "forty" was worth in the game of Scrabble, and I knew the answer because I had seen it on this photo prop just before we started playing.  My mom hadn't seen the photo prop, so she just thought I was a Scrabble genius.

Forty is worth 11 points.

P.S.  All the HUGE 40th birthday celebrations have been postponed because of COVID-19.  Expect Kevin and I to have amazing and totally random 42nd Birthday trips or parties or something.  Maybe 41st.  Maybe 43rd.  It all depends on the fate of the universe, really.
