Well, I got sucked into re-reading Harry Potter. I was reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to Lex one night, and then I couldn't help it. I ended up reading that book, and the rest of the series:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Then, I didn't know what to read. I kind of wanted to read the first Harry Potter book at that point, but I've been sucked into this endless re-reading cycle before. I resisted. I started reading one of Connor's new books: The Call of Cthulhu. But I wasn't enjoying it very much because I had never read it before and therefore didn't know what was going to happen next.
So, I ended up re-reading The Fault in Our Stars.
And then something new happened. THE LIBRARY REOPENED TO THE PUBLIC.
That was my benchmark. That was the thing I was waiting for to know that the pandemic was coming to an end and real life was restarting. I figured that the public library wasn't really losing money by staying closed, because it didn't generate money. It was a service, and one that people could argue was non-essential in a time of crisis (except for Hermione Granger). I figured it would stay closed until the danger was largely over. And so it did. But, now it's open again.
We went to the library today, and this is what I checked out. Some books I have read, and some that I haven't.
