I finished reading Kaikeyi last night.
Yes, by the time I got it back to the library, it was overdue.
But I got distracted by making an entire dress there in the middle of reading it.
It was a fantastic book. Honestly.
I think it took me so long to read it because I was enjoying it so much, and I didn't want it to end.

I *am* really glad that I read a basic version of the Ramyana myth before reading Kaikeyi. The two stories really do work very well together, and this book serves as a complete backstory to explain how the things that came to be in the Ramayana came to pass. The female characters are finally fully developed.
I liked Kaikeyi much better than the Ramayana, but I needed to understand the basic story in order to truly appreciate this book.
