I finished reading The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd today. At one point I had to lock the door to my office because I was crying so hard. I don't think that a book has ever made me cry like that before, like the hurting was actually real. The sadness was enormous. But, the ending was fulfilling.
Nothing else that I can say about this book relative to the plot, characters, etc. will do it justice. But, you should read it. Alone. With a box of Kleenex handy.
