The Funniest Grocery Store Trip Ever

Last night, Kevin and I went to Kroger. When we were checking out, Kevin noticed that the bagging girl was putting our groceries in plastic bags. He asked her if we could have paper. She said something about "stacked," and Kevin didn't really hear her, so he told her to do whatever was easiest for her.

(At this point, I had wandered over to a bench, and was watching from a short distance.)

She proceeded to pack all of our groceries in plastic bags, and when she was finished, she handed Kevin a large stack of unused paper bags, and asked if it was alright. Kevin wanted to ask her what she had meant by "stacked," but instead he just said, "What does stacked mean?"

You should have seen the face of the man who was standing behind him! It was priceless. Then, the cashier tried to explain to Kevin what "stacked" meant, by using all sorts of huge arm movements. It was totally comical!

Kevin then said that he had wanted the groceries packed IN the paper bags, and so the bagging girl starting putting all the groceries that were already in the plastic bags into paper bags, plastic bag and all, while the cashier started unpacking some plastic bags and repacking the groceries into paper bags. All the while, the man behind Kevin looked like he just couldn't believe what was going on, and the cashier made fun of the bagging girl for not understanding what it meant to put groceries into paper bags.

I laughed all the way home in the car, and the whole time we were putting the groceries away last night.
