Last night I went to a breastfeeding seminar at Babies 'R Us. It was actually pretty informative, and I learned a lot.
Did you know that breastmilk is a stable compound, and that it doesn't require refridgeration if it is kept at about 72 degrees for about 8 hours? That really surprised me.
Another very interesting fact that I learned is that the nipple can sense the contents of the baby's saliva, so each time you feed (and from one side to the other) the milk is different because it responds to whatever nutritional or antibiotical needs the baby has. That is absolutely amazing to me!
