On This Day in (My Own) History

Kevin and I went on our first date on this day 5 years ago! I can't believe how quickly time passes, and how great these past 5 years have been.

I decided to post this picture here for a variety of reasons. It is a picture that was taken before the first sorority formal that I took Kevin to, and we had only been dating for a couple of months then. Plus, I'm wearing the same LBD that I wore to dinner on our first date.

Our first date actually went so well that it had two parts: first we went to dinner at the Japanese Steakhouse downtown, where we sat with a bunch of older couples. They even asked us how much we had paid our sitter to watch the kids so that we could go out. They were shocked when we told them that it was our first date ever (and that we didn't have any kids), because they said we seemed like we had known each other forever and were very comfortable with one another. Then, because dinner went so well (and after I changed into some jeans), Kevin took me bowling with a bunch of his friends who he had been planning on meeting up with after our date was over.

And the rest, as they say, is history.
