"Gifts" from My Mom's Friend at Church

Last Sunday at church, after the service was over, a friend of my mother's caught up with Kevin and I and let us know that she had some baby things in her car for us. She said that her neighbor was getting rid of them, and that they were in really good shape. Of course, we accepted her gift, and Kevin loaded them from her trunk into ours.

We got them home, and I finally got around to putting them together. There is a portable travel swing which *is* in really good shape, except for the missing pieces. The battery compartment cover, which is where the speed and music controls were located, is gone.

Also, there is a very nice rocking bassinet that vibrates and has some music features. This is also in really good shape, except that it is missing the support bars that hold the bassinet onto the rocking frame.

I really appreciate the thoughtfulness, and I still feel like I should write my mom's friend a nice thank you note, but both pieces are basically junk at the moment, as neither of them are fit to be used with an infant.

On the bright side, neither of them are things that we really need (in fact, we didn't even register for a travel swing or a bassinet), and I won't be upset if I can't get them in working order. I just checked the websites for both companies, and I can't order replacement parts for either at the moment. I might call the 800 numbers later to see what I can find out, though.
