Virginia Tech Shooting

So, even though I've been trying to avoid the news coverage of this tragedy (which is hard, because it is everywhere) because the newscasters are making it so sensational, I've found out that one of the people who was killed was connected to me, in a way, even though I had never met her.


Maxine Turner was a founding member of a chapter of my sorority at Virginia Tech. I was a founding member of the chapter of my sorority at Ohio State. I can only imagine what the other sisters there must be feeling.


So far, it's been a bad month for my sorority, as one of the alumnae members of my chapter passed away about a week or two ago from a drug overdose. I can't recall ever hearing about any other sorority members passing away before this, as they would put information like that in the national newsletter.
