Sometimes ants with wings are just ants with wings

Last Friday:

Julie: "Kevin, look at these strange ants with wings."
Kevin: "Those aren't ants. Ants with wings are actually termites."

Today:

Terminix Guy: "You don't have termites. Those are ants with wings."

I remember those from my house growing up. They weren't termites because they were coming up around our concrete patio. We left the vacuum sweeper plugged in, and whoever passed the sliding door, and noticed them amassing, had to suck them up. They came back for a few years in a row.. then they disappeared.
