Everyone knows that I was not blessed with a baby who sleeps well through the night.
It drives me crazy that my mom always states: "You guys were sleeping through the night by 6 weeks."
Connor didn't sleep through the night regularly until he was 14 months old. Prior to that, I got a whole night of sleep THREE times. Of course, I remember waking up anyways to make sure he was okay...and because he was missing his regular nursing times and that caused me some pain. He always wanted milk at night.
Even now, he occasionally wakes up at night and wants milk. But for the most part, he sleeps through the night pretty well.
Until recently. He started walking up 4-5 nights a week, completely soaked. His diaper would be so full, his clothes would be wet, and the sheets and blankets would need changed and washed. Also, he would be cold, since the warm wetness wouldn't wake him until it cooled off. Needless to say, this is very disruptive to his (and my) night.
The first week, I thought it was a fluke and would go away on its own. I apparently don't reason well in the middle of the night.
The second week, I decided to do something about it. We switched from Pampers Baby Dry, which are great during the day (we never have problems then) to Pampers Cruisers. Again, those diapers are great, but only during the day.
After the third week, I sent Kevin for some special overnight diapers. I didn't care how much they cost or if they were big kid pull ups for potty trainers. He came home with Huggies Overnights, which are diaper style, and we haven't had a wet night since then!
Unfortunately, Connor is still waking up occasionally for milk, but at least he is dry! Getting a bottle is much less work than changing his clothes, washing him up, changing the sheets and getting new blankets, plus getting that bottle of milk.
Three cheers for Huggies Overnights!! I haven't bought them myself yet, so I don't know if they are more expensive then Pampers or not. But I don't care if they are.

We too with both girls went through a stage of soaking way beyond the diaper capacity at night--my solution (probably because I didn't know about the overnights:) was to pin a couple of cloth diapers around the top of their diapers, since the wetness seemed to travel upwards. I'm not sure if that's what's happening with him, but it worked for us. Sending Connor lots of night time sleep fairy dust (and the sleep issues are still off and on for us, even after 4.5 years, lol:)
I tried the Huggies Overnights, too...during our size 3. But, I found that regular Huggies (red and white package) work just as well as the Overnights. I'm convinced it's because Huggies have elastic in the back.
