Mother's Day, Part One
Kevin, Connor and I visited the zoo on Mother's Day. We have been wanting to go for ages, and it seemed like a nice way to celebrate the day. What we didn't realize was that the zoo offers free admission for all mothers on Mother's Day, and it was, well, a zoo!
We waited in line to park for at least 25 minutes. We waited in line to buy tickets for 20 minutes. By this time, we were done with lines, so we skipped the 1 hour wait to see the new baby elephant. Sorry baby elephant - there is always next time.
And a next time there will be! Before we left, Kevin applied the day's admission (which was just his ticket price) to a membership for us! And he didn't get just a family membership, he got a great big one for 6 people. Kevin and I are named on the pass, and we can get in two other adults and two children (one of which will be Connor after he turns 2) with us on each visit. We also get free parking for two cars each time. I'm so excited! Anyone fancy a trip to the zoo?
We only got through one area of the zoo on Sunday - the Africa area - and we didn't even see all of it (must see that baby elephant)!

Nice!
I don't remember the Columbus Zoo at all. I remember going to teh Cincinnati zoo though. Tulsa, Oklahoma zoo is ok but a bit smaller =[
My friends from Columbus are doing a book, http://www.52zoos.com/. 52 Zoos in 52 weeks.
My lady and I are planning a trip to Ohio to visit family and visit the Columbus zoo. She love elephants so may have to get there early to see the little guy.
I love going to the zoo! We went as adults with my mom for mother's day two years ago. I don't think they had the free thing and I don't remember it being really crowded it could be the baby elephant.
I remember going a lot when I was little. You'll enjoy the membership. And so will Connor.
Caroline LOVES the zoo...I've never seen that big pass, but I have been on a day with free admission, but it was for everyone! It was crazy!!!
