They say...

They say that young children are very in tune with their mothers...especially during pregnancy.

Connor knows something is up.

We've been talking about Lex more for the past few days, and today when we passed a hotel in the car, he told me that it was the hospital where Mommy was going to go sleep soon. (I suppose that hospitals and hotels look a lot alike to a small child.) I think it's interesting that he is the one that keeps bringing Lex up in conversation.

We went shopping yesterday, and Connor bought Lex some birthday presents. I offered to let him pick out a teddy bear for Lex, but he decided to buy a stuffed monkey, and a matching blanket with a monkey on it.

(Don't tell Connor, but Lex has already bought some "Big Brother" presents to give to him at the hospital, too!)

Anyways, Connor has been really cuddly and a little bit clingy since last night. He has spent a huge amount of time right on top of me, even though Nana was visiting today, and tonight he didn't want me to leave his room at bedtime. He wanted to sleep right on top of Lex. Finally, since I was keeping him up, I had to send Daddy up there to get him to go to sleep.

I wonder what he knows...

Last night, I didn't get hardly a wink of sleep, because Lex was doing something in there. When I finally did get to sleep, sometime after 4:30 AM, I think it was because he had moved again. I woke up this morning, and he was no longer in the same position that he has been in since the last time he kept me up all night with his relocation. I believe that he is now both head down, and engaged in my pelvis. My 37 week checkup is tomorrow, so we'll see what the doctor says about that.

Wow, that really is amazing. I think children do know. They are so in tune with their surroundings. I think we adults are sometimes so wrapped up with reality that we forgot to stop and listen. I sounds like things are moving along in there! I wish you the best for your upcoming wonderful experience! I am curious how it is to have two children and how the transition is. I am sure I will read all about it here. :-)

I can tell you beyond absolute fact they KNOW things and see things we cannot comprehend! They may not be able to verbalize it, because they're young--but it's all "normal" to them. I'll send you an email sometime on some of the things that transpired with one my girls with the recent events we've gone through. Amazing.

And the Monkey gifts are PERFECT!

FYI--I remember the morning we were going into have my second--I was completely holding it together, until I peaked in at my 1.5 yr old sleeping, and realized that was the last moment it would be just me and her--then I lost it:)
