Daytona Beach

On Friday night, after our trip to the Daytona Beach International Speedway, and a visit with my grandparents (who live in Daytona Beach), we headed to the beach to play in the sand.

We started out by the boardwalk, and we had a fabulous time playing in the sand and surf. We had such a great time, in fact, that we decided to stay overnight on the beach and do it again in the morning before heading home. So, we started walking down the beach, looking for a nice hotel to stay in.

The first hotel we passed was the Hilton, but their computer reservation system was down, so they couldn't even tell us if they had any rooms available for the night.

The next hotel we stumbled upon was the Plaza Resort & Spa. They had a few rooms left, so we nabbed one for the night.

Then, we realized that we were in the middle of some sort of convention. And there was something a little bit different about the other hotel guests. Kevin finally asked someone what was going on, and it turns out that we had decided to stay right in the middle of a Narcotics Anonymous convention! (People watching at the hotel pool the next morning was something else, let me tell you!)

Anyways, we had breakfast on the beach the next morning, and played in the sand until our noon checkout. It was a fabulous end to our vacation!
