Today for lunch, I gave Connor two graham crackers - one topped with peanut butter, and the other one topped with Nutella - with a promise that if he ate all of it, he could have a small chocolate bunny that was leftover from Easter for dessert.
He sat at the table for one hour and fifty-five minutes before he earned that bunny.
Every 10 minutes or so, he would calmly ask me how much more he had to eat in order to get his bunny. Each time, I told him that he had to eat it all. He never complained and he never threw a fit. He just kept nibbling.
I can't believe that it took him so long to eat two measly crackers! Can you imagine how long it would have taken him if I had asked him to eat two pieces of broccoli?
