I Can Make it Down in Time for Dinner

We left early in the morning. Our official drive start time was 5:37 am. I made it to West Virginia before the sun came up. Kevin and Lex went straight back to sleep once in the car. Only Connor stayed up with me while I drove, even though I tried to talk him into taking a nap. He was too excited to sleep.

Our drive was wonderful, and without incident. I only turned the DVD player on for the kids after lunch, when we usually have a video before nap (because we didn't need it before then). Lex took a second nap, but Connor was still too excited to sleep.

We made it to South Carolina in time for supper. In fact, I think we made it there by about 4:15 pm. Since we were early for dinner, we decided to head over to the beach on Hilton Head Island.

By the time we were done, Connor was swimming in his underpants and Lex was swimming in his diaper. A regular diaper, mind you, not a swimming diaper. I didn't think we were actually going to get in the water, so I had left the swim trunks in the car. The pull of the ocean was too much for our boys to resist.

While we were swimming, Connor announced that he had to pee. His father told him just to go in the ocean. So Connor, never before having been told to do such a thing in his life, and wearing nothing but underpants, marches over to the ocean, pulls down his underpants, and pisses right in the water, just as if he was standing at an imaginary urinal. I, being the good mother that I am, took a photo, of course. Now the only question remaining is whether I should pull it out and threaten to show it to his first date, or if I should save it for the slide show at his wedding. (Just kidding, Connor! Well, mostly....)
