There *is* Fun to be Had on a Wet, Wet Day

There is an ice cream factory
in our town, where they still make ice cream in tiny two-gallon batches and then hand-pack the cartons. (This is why a gallon of Graeter's Ice Cream costs $14 at Kroger.)

Last week, when it was stormy, we stopped by for a visit. We watched them make ice cream, and then we watched them make an ice cream cake. And then we ate ice cream at 10:30 in the morning and played in their indoor ice-cream-themed play area.

For the record: There was a big, long blue tube slide. Both boys climbed up to the top, but then Connor declared that the slide was too "deep" and he climbed back down. Lex wanted to follow him down again, but as he is shorter, he couldn't figure out how to do it. Just like a cat in a tree, it was easier for him to climb up than it was to climb down. So, I told Lex that he would just have to go down the slide. He stayed up at the top for about five minutes, and then Connor and I caught him at the bottom. Connor was very proud of his little brother, but he still had no interest in going down the slide himself. When we got home, and I was telling Daddy the story later, Connor declared that he'll do the slide next time.

The forecast is calling for storms again. What fun can we get into this time?
