Today was Connor's last soccer game for this spring season. This season was very different from the fall season...it was so wet and muddy! I rather preferred the frosty cold of the fall season to the wet and mud of spring. A few of our games had to be rescheduled due to rain and poor field conditions. Today, we had to switch fields because ours was nothing more than a mud pit. We still all got filthy, and for some reason, today the mud really STUNK!
Connor doesn't like to play soccer in the mud. The first time his ball rolled into the mud puddle he looked at me...and I said, go ahead, you can dirty. He just stood there and shook his head no. The coach came over and kicked his ball right out of the mud for him.
Mud and rain and heat notwithstanding, Connor still had a fun season.
Today was the last game, so for the very end of it, they got to play with special huge soccer balls! The balls were so big that they knocked a few of the kids right off their feet! (Into the mud, of course.)
Now, if you excuse me, I must go hose the mud off all of our sports chairs and shoes and soccer balls.
