Anyways, there was an event with a free beer tasting, free swing dance lessons, and some kids activities. There were ping pong tables set up, and cornhole boards, as well as some giant foam blocks with balls for the kids to play with. There was also a mobile library set out with little tables and chairs for kids to sit and read. (There were adult books and free wi-fi available, too.)
There are a few permanent structures at the park, including restrooms and a concession stand, and a carousel. Rides cost $1 per kid.

We had a great time at this new park last night, and I see us meeting our friends there again in the future. It's a great spot to meet, as it is centrally located.
However, there is no shade at the park, as all the trees are very young saplings. So it was very hot! Maybe next time we will wait for a cooler evening...or maybe we'll bring our own canopy.
