Legos, Rockets and Four-Year Olds

Ever since Connor turned four, things have been a little bit different around here. The most noticeable change is the amount of time Connor spends playing by himself in his room. The door to his room is always closed these days to keep Lex away from his new Legos.

A custom Saturn V poster adorns his bedroom door.

He doesn't mind if Daddy or I come in to play, though.

Connor now has all four of the Lego City space lego sets. And he can build each one all by himself. He usually starts the day by picking one to disassemble and reassemble before ever coming out of his room.

And, in a funny turn of events, we keep finding him playing with the legos in his room while totally naked. I get it actually. I send him up there to change his clothes, and he takes his old clothes off, but before he can pick what to put on, he gets distracted. And since there is no one in there to bother him, it doesn't really matter.

The Legos are the first toy that he hasn't had to share with Lex at all. In fact, because they are so small, I kind of want to keep them away from Lex. I think that may be part of the reason that Connor loves them so much. They are a special toy, just for him, because he is such a big boy.
