The Gateway Arch
"Hey boys, why don't you go stand over by the arch, and I'll take your picture?"
This is how they interpreted that request. Seriously. They wouldn't turn around, either.
So, we just went on inside the arch.
Honestly, we didn't spend too much time exploring the Museum of Westward Expansion.
We were more interested in The Journey to the Top. We rode in a little tram capsule up to the top of the arch, 630 feet up.
They boys loved looking out the windows. They looked out each and every window, and each window was given ample time to consider every little thing that was going on below us.
The shadow of the arch on the Mississippi River, Illinois on the other side, a helipad, and a small yellow helicopter!
The view on the other side of the arch: The Old Courthouse, Kiener Plaza, Citygarden, etc.
One of the men who worked security at the Arch asked us where we were from. He gave me a dirty look when I told him that we were from Columbus, Ohio. I think he thought I was lying. It wasn't until later that I realized that both boys were wearing shirts from Nashville. Lex was wearing a Cheekwood shirt, and Connor was wearing one from the Nashville Zoo. What can I say?
Lex is tiny compared to the arch.
