Earlier this week was the first Tuesday of February, so that means that it was the day of the Lego Monthly Mini Build. I loaded the kids in the car and headed to the local Lego store, where we would be building a mini hockey player. And thank goodness for that, since Connor needed a new sport to obsess over, what with the end of football season.
Lex did finish building his guy in the store, but Connor didn't get a chance to finish building his until we got home. There was something of a potty emergency, and there isn't a bathroom in the Lego store itself. So I tossed the rest of his pieces into our bag and made a beeline for the door in order to locate the closest restroom about a block away. No big deal. But that's why his "look, Mom, I finished building my guy" photo shoot took place in his bedroom.
Before the Lego store, while we were waiting for the mini build to start, we decided to walk around the Build-A-Bear Workshop, where the boys picked out new outfits for their bears. Connor's bear couldn't keep wearing his football jersey anymore because it was TWO WHOLE DAYS PAST THE SUPERBOWL! (Connor's in-store-negotiation tactics are something to behold.)
Anyways, Connor chose a basketball outfit for his bear to wear, and Lex selected a hockey uniform.
And as soon as they got their bears dressed in their new outfits, they started fighting over them. Lex wanted the basketball outfit but would not give up the hockey outfit. Connor wanted the hockey outfit but would not give up the basketball outfit. Sigh.
