The Journey is Half the Fun: Huntsville, Texas Edition

About half-way between Houston and Dallas is Huntsville, Texas, home of the Sam Houston Statue.  And this is no run of the mill statute.  This is a 77 foot statue, which makes it the tallest likeness of any American hero.  It is made of 60 tons of concrete and steel, and it took three whole years to complete.

Of course, we had to stop to check it out.  There are many other Sam Houston-related-historical places to visit in Huntsville, but we didn't stop to check any of the others out.  It looks like you could spend a whole day exploring there.
