Chuck E. Cheese

After the wedding in Texas last month, we took the boys to Chuck E. Cheese. There was one right across the street from our hotel, and the boys had asked to go before the wedding. We made a deal with them that if they did a good job walking down the aisle, we would go to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch the next day.  (As long as we didn't actually have to eat the pizza for lunch, that is.  We got drive-through burgers and ate in the Chuck E. parking lot.)

So the day after the wedding, we took them to Chuck E. Cheese for a little while. We bought them 20 tokens each, and told them we would stay until they had used them all up.

And use them they did.  Those kids had so much fun.

Connor is now a skee-ball master.

And Lex rode this little car with Chuck E. Cheese probably a half-dozen times.

But.  We started something.  Something terrible.  Lex had such a stinking good time that he now asks to go to Chuck E. Cheese every. single. day.  It's been a month, and he still wakes up and asks me if we can go to Chuck E. Cheese.  Before bed each night, he asks if Chuck E. Cheese is closed.  (Well, he used to ask.  After a while, he started just informing me that Chuck E. Cheese was closed since it was bed time. I guess he figured it out.) When we get into the car, he asks if we can go to Chuck E. Cheese.  Never mind that we have tried to explain that Chuck E. Cheese is for specials, like birthdays and weddings and reunions with friends we haven't seen in a long time.  He thinks every day is special enough for Chuck E.  And maybe it is.

Which is why I did some research, and found out that they can play some Chuck E. Cheese games at home, right on the internet.  And while internet skee-ball isn't quite the same, it's been enough to keep us sane.

P.S.  No, I'm not being paid to drive traffic to the Chuck E. Cheese website.  I just re-read this and it kinda sounded like I was.  But, go play some internet skee-ball anyways.  It's oddly satisfying.  But only if you have the sound turned on.

P.S. #2.  The kids won about 40 tickets that day, which they spent on Smarties.  Good choice, if you ask me.
