On the way home from Chicago

Kevin and I have been to Chicago twice, and both times we stopped at the same place on the way home.

The Fair Oaks Dairy Farm in Indiana.

This place is really cool.  You can do factory tours, and see milk and cheese production in action.  There is a kitschy little gift shop, a cafe with an ice cream parlor, and a cheese shop.

When we stopped there in 2007, we got some really fabulous grilled cheese sandwiches made with several types of gourmet cheese.  Kevin's been talking about those sandwiches ever since.  Of course, now both Connor and Lex are grilled cheese aficionados.  So this time we ordered several grilled cheese sandwiches.  I, on the other hand, finally found the bowl of chili that I had been searching for all weekend, topped with fabulous fresh cheddar cheese.

Then, we ventured outside to one of the many play areas.  We played on a giant bouncy pillow before resuming our trip home.
