We visited the home of the Chicago Bears at the perfect time. Well, other than an actual NFL game, I suppose.
But what better time to visit Soldier Field than Memorial Day weekend?
The whole thing is dedicated to the men and women of the Armed Services, and it is beautifully done.
There are so many beautiful memorials to each and every branch of the military.
In fact, when we arrived, we found ourselves in the midst of the Soldier Field 10 Mile, a 10 mile foot race that ends on the 50 yard line. We were able to get into the stadium and walk around and check things out, and cheer for the racers as they crossed the finish line.
It was very exciting! And very appropriate for Memorial Day. Much better than a plain old stadium tour.
Sidebar: I love that the stadium is half modern football arena and half classical architecture. Whoever dreamed this one up is a genius!
Current Status of Connor's NFL Stadium Project:
6 down. 26 to go!
