Today was Connor's first tennis lesson. Did you know he was interested in tennis? Me neither, until he mentioned it. I was asking him if we could sign both him and his brother up for swim lessons, and he politely declined, citing his wish for tennis lessons instead. So, we went and signed him up for tennis.
There were 3 other kids in his group, all of whom where there for their first lesson. The coach is amazing. He was so positive and fun and patient. I was really impressed.
There were another 4 kids there who were experienced students, but they worked with a different coach on the next court. All the kids were supposed to be between ages 4 and 6, and they were, except for one little girl. Lex threw a huge fit when he saw her playing, as I had explained that this tennis class was for big kids and he was going to have to sit it out. Well, she was clearly smaller than him, and when I inquired, it turned out that she was older than Lex, but only just turned 3. (Lex was invited to join the group for the fall session in September, when he is closer to 3.)
So what did Lex do today while Connor learned tennis? He played on the playground.
"This is the tallest slide I have ever gone on in my whole life!"
He really said that.
After the tennis lesson ended, we stopped a the rec center on the way home and signed them both up for swim lessons. Stay tuned for that.
Oh, and then we went to BW3 for dinner. Did you know that kids' meals are only $.99 on Wednesday nights? It was a nice surprise.
