The Only Turkey Connor Will Eat

Today Kevin and I took Connor and Lex to the Franklin Park Conservatory for one of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions: edible turkey crafts!

Building the turkeys is really easy.  You just need two oreos, some candy corn for the plum, wings and beak, a Rolo for the body and a Milk Dud for the head.  Everything is held together with icing.  (And it only has to stay together long enough for a photo before you eat it up!)  We used orange icing for the eyes and feet.

As part of the craft time, we also read Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Dav Pilkey, and sung this new song (to the tune of I'm a Little Teapot):
