In which we paid Connor $4.80 to eat his noodles at dinner

Tonight for dinner I prepared and served home-made garlic bread.  I called it Alaska Toast because it was bigger than the Texas Toast that we usually buy from the grocery store.  At first Connor didn't believe me that Alaska was bigger than Texas.  At first, he claimed that he wouldn't eat it because it wasn't the same as the Texas Toast that he liked.

After we cut off the crust, he ate it.

Tonight for dinner I prepared some mixed vegetables.  Kevin ate them.  I ate them.  Lex ate some green beans and yellow wax beans.  They were really long and did resemble french fries in shape.  We called them nature's french fries.  Connor didn't buy it.  At all.

Tonight for dinner I prepared some spaghetti noodles.  Connor's first reaction was that he had given up spaghetti noodles for Lent.  We informed him that Lent was over.  He then declared that he would not eat them.  Lengthy negotiations followed, and we agreed that we would pay him $4.80 if he ate all the noodles on his plate.

He is trying to earn and save money for a LEGO set that he has had his eye on.  He was about $5 short before dinner.

He then ate each and every noodle with relish.  I think he fooled us.  I think he never had a problem with spaghetti, and was just playing us for an opportunity such as this.

I mean, the kid ate the noodles with no fuss at all.  Even when I gave him three more noodles to replace the three that had dropped on the floor.

Before we paid him, we secured a promise from him that he would always eat his noodles without a fuss from now on.  That's worth $4.80, right?
