They got out the John Deere tractor to help maintain the lawn.
And then there was some general playing in the sprinklers.
Of course they were still in their pajamas.
They both got good and soaked.
It was all fun and games until Lex got his glasses wet, and decided to use the driveway to try to dry them off. He basically took them and rubbed them all over the concrete, which of course scratched the lenses until they were worthless. What was I doing when this happened? I had gone back into the house to put the camera away.
I called the ophthalmologist right away, and because I had bought the deluxe warranty on both the lenses and the frames, they sent away for a replacement pair. He had to wear the scratched glasses for about a week, but he has a brand new pair again now. We can get the lenses replaced one more time between now and December when the warranty expires. I am not sure how many more replacements we have on the frames.
Moral of the story: Always buy the warranty on your preschooler's glasses. And let your kids help with the lawn maintenance. While in pajamas.
