We went to the farm yesterday with our homeschool group, and it was amazingly fun!
We spent like 6 hours there. It was long enough for the weather to be three different seasons.
You see, yesterday morning, it was 45 degrees. The kids went outside for a quick game of football first thing in the morning, and that required gloves and hats.
Then, it warmed up and was a pleasant fall day for most of the time that we were at the farm.
Then, it warmed up even more and was 85 degrees and sunny and too hot to be at the farm. We all got sunburned on the same day we started out in hats and gloves.
It was so hot that Lex was convinced that he was going to die of heat stroke and dehydration before we found our way out of the corn maze. Fortunately, that didn't happen. Chocolate milkshakes on the way home from the farm did happen, though.
But I'm getting ahead of myself.
We went to the farm.
We had a short little class all about corn, and then we had a corn shucking contest. There were playgrounds and little straw mazes and slides.
We went on a long hayride and picked out some tiny pumpkins to take home with us.
Lex liked this pumpkin best. He said it looked just like a bomb.
We spent a really long time jumping on the giant pillow.
And playing football on the giant pillow. And fighting ninjas on the giant pillow. And playing tag on the giant pillow...
I finally convinced them to leave the giant pillow and try out the corn maze.
Which was huge and also had slides.
If ever there is a chance to put their face in a hole for a photo op, my kids must do it.
There was also a firing range with corn cannons that shot entire corn cobs.
Of course this was a favorite thing. But it wasn't THE favorite thing of the day.
That would be the zip lines.
They rode the zip lines a lot. Before lunch. After lunch. Before the hay ride. After the corn maze. This is the thing we did over and over again, and we kept coming back for more.
In the end, I must agree that it was an Amazingly Fun Farm!
