Getting Ready for School

We are starting to get ready for a new school year to start after Labor Day.  All the kids around here have already gone back to school, but we are going to have a few more weeks of summer before we do.  Our summer foreign language camp is still going really well, and I like to keep our official school year between Labor Day and Memorial Day.

That said, we did go shopping for a few school supplies.  Here's what we bought:

Summer Fun

We picked up a large world map and a large United States map.  Those were definitely on the list for this year.  We also got a United States Presidents puzzle.  That wasn't exactly on the list, but I'm glad that they picked it out, because I love puzzles.  And Connor loves the Presidents, and we are going to study them this year.

Finally, we bought pencils.  Lex picked out the pack with the flames.  Connor picked the money pencils.

It doesn't look like much, but I think that's all we needed to go out and buy at the store right now.  I'm ordering their curriculum workbooks directly from the publisher, and we are going to be getting the rest of our books from the library.
