In which we celebrate Lex's Birthday

Lex asked for a Beyblade Birthday Party this year.  Also, a slumber party.  And a lazer tag party.  With pizza and chocolate cake.  It sounds like a lot when I type it all out, but really it was a fun and easy party.

I ordered all of his Beyblade-themed party supplies on Amazon, because Beyblades are an old thing, and they aren't in stores any more.

Another thing that made the party easy for me and great for Lex was that he only wanted to invite his most bestest friends.

As they were sitting around the table eating pizza, I noticed how much younger Lex is than his favorite friends.  Here, Lex is 5, going on 6 years old.  The kids sitting with him are 7, 8, 10 and 11 years old.  But it works out totally fine because they all love to play the same things.  Nerf.  Beyblades.  Minecraft.  Football.

Lex asked me to make him a chocolate cake with chocolate and mint frosting.  It was delicious.  It was also kind of on the plain side, decorations wise.  But that's what Lex wanted.

We bought him a new set of Beyblades to play with at his party, complete with one called Death Quetzalcoatl, which is the one he really wanted.

After Beyblades, the boys took all the Nerf guns outside for an epic Nerf battle.

Later, we took the boys to the local lazer tag place for a round of lazer tag.

After lazer tag and video games in the arcade, we went back home for the slumber party.  The kids set up camp in Lex's room, and I'm pretty sure that they played video games and watched videos all night long.  But they were quiet about it, so it was fine.  That's what slumber parties are for, after all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEX!
