In which we visit Deadwood

Our next stop on our little tour of South Dakota was the wild west town of Deadwood.









This is about when Lex realized that there was GOLD in 'dem 'der hills!





Lex asked if we could get some gold, and approximately five minutes later, we stumbled across the Broken Boot Gold Mine.  It was magical.

Both of the boys did a little panning for gold and came away with their own tiny gold nuggets.







Yes, Deadwood is named for all the dead trees found there.
